St. Patrick's day party, zoo, graduation, brooks' surgery, gulf shores vaca, memorial day lake trip

I have been (surprise) a horrible blogger as of late, but it's been a bit insane as always. Since our last blog update, weve had a lot of goings on!I hope that all the photos I included in this post will make up for my shortcomings! In march we celebrated st. Patrick's day and my mom's birthday at a huge party at Joan and James' new lake house at pick wick lake in savannah, tn. It was a great party the whole Lunsford clan was there, my family came over and many family friends, business affiliates and neighbors came over to celebrate!

the crew lined up for some brisket and BBQ

It was great we had several Irish inspired recipes including a fruit rainbow, Irish carbomb cupcakes and much more! I had some friends come down from olive branch and Leigh Anne had some friends come over from Dallas we had fun with everyone.

Here are some photos of just a random Saturday afternoon while the boys play out in the backyard in our kiddie pool. It's one of their new favorite past times!

Next, Camden and I had a date to the zoo. We usually go at least once a year. It was even better than normal b/c this time they had a dinosaur (robotic animated) exhibit as well as a feed the giraffe section. Camden had a blast! I'm so ready for brooks to get a little bigger so he an go!

I worked a ton in between all these events and I finally finished my clinicals and had a few weeks until graduation and picked up several shifts at work to make extra $$! Then finally on may 3, I had my hooding graduation ceremony! I was so excited to close this chapter of my life and finish with my masters in nursing. Now I just need to take my Nurse Practitioner boards and finalize my job selections, etc before I will be a practicing Nurse Practitioner.

With my guys:)

Finally a graduate!!

The boys were more concerned with getting cupcakes at the reception

Brooks destroyed this cupcake he was starving!

Tracy and Leigh Anne came to show their support

Trey threw a cookout graduation party for me at our house the next weekend and we had a great time celebrating with friends and family! We broke out the slip n slide for the kids and we cooked out fajitas in honor of Cinco de Mayo!

Silly boy!

Brooks continues to have cold after cold, that almost always resulted in an ear infection! He has had a total of 9 now and at #8 we were referred to an EnT doctor and he agreed that it was time to give my baby some relief and have TE tubes. And of course, when we actually sat down with the doctor brooks had yet another ear infection! So, he scheduled the surgery for that week. We had to keep our little guy nothing by mouth after midnight and have him to the surgery center bright and early the next morning. He did great in the pre-op and Lebonheur was amazing everything is tailored for kids toys everywhere, a "bunny tunnel" where each child gets to pick out a toy to play with after surgery. The whole surgery took abut 15 mins and Dr. Colvin came to give us an update and said Lil Brooksie did great and he could not figure out how he was such a happy little kid with the large amount of pus he suctioned out from behind his little eardrums :( we went to recovery where they had warned us that brooks may be a "little cranky" as most kids are after anesthesia. "Cranky" was not even close to what my child was when we got back there! He was like a demon possessed devil, he was wild eyed and screaming bloody murder, trey and I could barely hold him in our arms he was thrashing around like a wild crocodile trying to escape capture! The drugs eventually wore off and he was back to normal and happy as a clam! We have not had another ear infection since and he has been doing so much better especially at night. Our only issue now is teething!

Our next adventure was a large group vacation with several of our friends to Gulf Shores, Al. It was the hangout festival a 3 day music festival that some of the group went to and the rest of us played on the beach and at the community pool.

Brooksie's first time on the beach!

Ahh!

We brought 2 babysitters with us to help with the kids when we went to dinner at night or someone needed a nap, etc. we went out on a boat one night inhopes of watching Dave matthews from the shore. However, once we made it there the extremely choppy water in the gulf was a little more than my stomach could handle and got a little sea sick! Trey and I ended up getting rescued by the concert jet ski guy and taken ashore where I immediately felt better! We somehow ended up being taken out and slipped into a VIP area and watched the concert in person! Kind of a crazy college like experience!

Then last weekend we went to Pickwick to stay at Savannah for Memorial Day weekend. Trey's Uncle Gene from Dallas came over and we had a ton of fun playing on the boat and cooking out for Trey's 33rd birthday. Joan had found the boys a giant blow up water slide and they had fun playing on that for a while.

Mom, Dad, Jimmy and Walker came over Saturday and stayed until Sunday afternoon. It was a great family weekend and we really enjoyed the lake time and the boys did great and they were so worn out Brooks actually slept until 9 on Sunday morning! that was an all time record. We are looking forward to many more lake weekend trips as our boy grow up.
