The Lunsford Family

This week we are celbrating our 7th wedding anniversary. Above is a picture from our wedding day at the beautiful Bonne Terre in Nesbit, MS. We have had a wonderful 7 yrs (11 total counting dating)thus far and look forward to many, many more! Love you honey!!

For our anniversary Trey surprised me and took me to the spot (even the exact booth) of where he proposed! so romantic :) Since we always do the anniversary gifts that coorelate with the year we went with this years gifts of "copper, wool or desk sets" I got trey a leather desk set for his office and I got a copper pin that says "Nurse practitioner" and some beautiful flowers. It was a great date night!

For the birthday night out we decided to hit up downtown Memphis like we used to back in the day. I will say I'm not 21 anymore, but I did enjoy a kid free night (mom and dad graciously kept them down at the farm for us overnight!). We went to eat with some friends at Local Gastropub which was great! Then we hit a few local bars for some fun with friends.

On Beale, we ran into the annual "Stumbling Santas" where groves of partygoers show up wearing their tackiest Christmas attire and get in different places at a discounted rate. These were a few of the ones we saw! Great inspiration for our tacky Christmas sweater party we're having next week for Aunt Pam's birthday in TX!!

Dessert at Local from Leigh Anne and Julie. It was a blondie brownie with ice cream, whipped cream, caramel and bacon..that's right, BACON! It was phenomenal! The waiter said when he ate it the first time it changed his life! haha!

All in all it was a great birthday (well officially my birthday is tomorrow and we will have a family get together) but fun nonetheless!!

Terrible I know, I figured since we were about to send out Christmas Cards I should update the blog so you can see what we've been up to this year!

The fall has been full of change and excitement. We celebrated the very recent engagement of Leigh Anne (Trey's sister) and TJ on their trip to Napa Valley. The wedding is set for August at the gorgeous Heartwood Hall in TN and I know I personally couldn't be more excited!! I love, love weddings as most of you know and the creative elements are so fun so hopefully I won't drive her bananas with all my ideas :) So happy for ya'll, can't wait until the big day!!!

With my own creative outlets, I have been working on a few projects around the house. My pinterest obessesion continues and I recently made a "gallery wall" of old frames and more friend and family pictures from trips and parties we've had. I hope to keep this a revolving outlet and change the pictures periodically. I also recently visited my great college friend Debra and the birth of her second child Chase at their (gorgeous) home in Collierville which inspired me to paint more rooms in the house. This seems to be something I like to do every so often. Trey said I need to quit going to people's houses and looking on houzz.com or pinterest it's costing him too much money! haha! But after visiting her lovely home I decided that the "balanced beige" (greige color) would look fantastic in our entry. So bye bye to the dark dark room and hello greige! Mom made me some beautiful new curtains to match and I'm so happy we did it! I smile everytime I enter the room:) We also planted my favorite since college at the Tri Delta house - pansies! Along with some cabbages in our flowerbeds out front. I love the festive fall flowers and colors!

Trey's Grandmother Jolene made a trip in a few months back and came over to our house one night for a family dinner and then we all went to Lowe's in Brinkley, AR to look at wedding dresses with the newly engaged Leigh Anne. They were having their semi-annual sale and I had an idea they were getting engaged on their trip so I made the appt unbeknownst to her so we could go when she got back. It was fun, she tried on a dozen dresses and I think we all were seeing white spots when we left. We left empty handed, but I think it was fun nonethelss! That night we drove up to the lakehouse at Pickwick and enjoyed a weekend with the family. Uncle Gene drove up from Dallas and we had a ball with him celebrating a belated birthday with him and Jolene. It was her first time to meet Mr. Brooks so I was excited about that. The last time that she saw Camden he was about Brooks' age so that was fun too for her to see how the boys interacted and played. I don't have many pics from that weekend bc most were on Jolene's camera and I havent gotten any of the images from her yet!

We all went to the Ole Miss vs Texas game which was fun. Well we didnt make it to the game, rather just to the Lunsfords tailgate. Being from TX, James had several business associates from various parts of TX to come party with us. It was fun, we took Camden and Walker while Brooksie said at the farm in Hickory Flat, MS with mom. The boys had a ball and the people watching was at an all time high! See pics below :)

Before it turned too cool, My friends Deena and Abby decided we would take our kiddos to the zoo. We had a ball, their little guys Preston and Jackson played so sweet with Camden as they got to feed the giraffes and visit with all the animals. We love making this trip every year~

Some of our good friends from church had a coming home party for Captain Montgomery who has been stationed in Afghanistan for the past year in Oxford, MS at a family home. It was a blast and several of the couples from church made it down. I was enamoured with the decor of this artist's home. Everywhere you looked, there was another interesting piece of art or furniture, it was even equipped with a swing in the den. Yep, thats what I said a swing!! My boys would be in the ER before we finished hanging that if it was at my house....

Our fall tradition continued as we always take the boys to the pumpkin patch and let them pick out some pumpkins and some of my favorite yearly pics always come from this time. We love all the colors of the season and I just want to fill up my whole trunk with all the different gourds and pumpkins to decorate the house! The boys as always had a blast!

For Halloween, we decided to host a party for our Sunday School class and their children. It was quite an undertaking since we have a fair amount of room in our home that is until you squeeze about 35 people in with children ranging from babies to 8 years old! We had the kids dress up and Trey and I did as well. Our boys went as the famous Blues brothers which was great! Trey was the Mayhem guy from the Allstate insurance commercials and I went as the "tanning mom" (the woman arrested this yr for tanning her 5 year old daughter!) We had a pot luck of food and just had a ball. The kids (and some adults) decorated pumpkins and we had a small contest which was fun. We loved the food and fellowship with our church friends.

The boys also had a Halloween party at school and since they are in different classes, they wore more traditional "solo" costumes. Camden went as a San Francisco Giant (like his daddy) and Brooks went as a cowboy.

I had my last shift as an RN recently. I have to say it was a bittersweet day. I was excited to be moving on to "greener" pastures, but I will dearly miss some of my wonderful coworkers. I was there for close to 5 years and I have worked days, weekends, holidays, nights and evenings with these folks so they are like a family to me. Albeit dysfunctional! ha! On my last days, several of my weekender friends made an elaborate spread of food worthy of the food network! I have to give special props to my friend Shawn who served up a fantastic feast of in his words "nibbles" :)

Camden had his first field trip several weeks ago to Cedar Hills Farm and we had a ball! I was lucky enough to get to go with him to the field trip and we did it all, the petting zoo, the pig races, the train ride, a hay ride to the pumpkin patch and more! They had a lunch their and I enjoyed getting to know Cam's friends a little better and put names to faces.
